The Way Forward Devotionals

The Way Forward is a five-week series preparing us for and moving us toward our Sacred Assembly on September 20. A Sacred Assembly is not simply a special service or a church event. It is a gathered moment before God where His people slow down, reflect honestly, confess humbly, receive His forgiveness, and turn together toward His ways. The tone of this series is not condemnation, but invitation. We are moving toward repentance, but repentance rooted in hope — the hope that the Father receives returning children, the Spirit reveals what needs healing, and Jesus leads His church into renewal.

Throughout this series, we will consider the pathway God often uses to restore His people: joy, unity, reflection, repentance, and sacred assembly. We will ask where we have drifted from the Father, where our unity has weakened, where our hearts need honest reflection, and where godly sorrow must lead to real repentance. The goal is not shame, but restored communion with God and one another. We are asking the Lord to prepare CBC not merely for a service on September 20, but for a holy encounter that helps us move forward together in humility, forgiveness, renewed mission, and joy.
