Greetings Century Family,
Our Lead Pastor Search Committee continues to meet regularly on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm to seek God’s guidance for the future of Century Baptist Church. We continue to celebrate that we have gone “live” with our search, which happened on Monday, October 5th. This means that we are officially accepting resumes for our Lead Pastor position.
As mentioned in our last correspondence, we are currently gathering input from our church body. If you haven’t done so already, we strongly encourage all members and attenders to complete our survey. Please note that the survey link will expire on October 31. Your input is vital to this process, and we want to ensure every voice is heard.
In our effort to maintain clear and consistent communication, we have also created a dedicated area on the Career page on our church website. We invite you to explore this resource to learn more about our process.
If you have any questions along the way, please feel free to reach out directly to any of our committee members, or submit your questions through our online form found here.
Lastly, we covet your prayers for our committee during this important season at CBC. Below, you will find a prayer guide that Pastor Paul recently used to lead us during our last meeting. Please join us in praying through these four areas in the weeks ahead.
Prayer for our Church Family:
- A commitment to join in prayer for God’s leading in bringing us a Lead Pastor
- Demonstrate support for the Lead Pastor Search Committee through encouragement of its members and affirmation of their work as they speak to and with other church family members
- Patience to wait on God’s timing, discernment of God’s leading, and wisdom to trust and know with certainty God’s sovereignty in the process
- For excitement to build for how God is using and going to use our church family in the mission of disciple-making
- To gain a vision for the lost coming to faith in Jesus, building the kingdom of God in the manner in which God desires Century Baptist to be involved
Prayer for the Search Process:
- God’s guidance of the man He has chosen/already knows will be our next Lead Pastor to have a settled resolve in his faith about pursuing this ministry
- God’s protection over the pastor, his family (if applicable), for good physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health through the entire process
- Alertness, discernment, and wisdom from Brett and Vanderbloemen personnel to hear clearly what is being written and spoken by the pastor
- Clear communication from Brett and Vanderbloemen personnel to pastor candidate
- Clarifying questions to be asked and answered
Prayer for our Next Lead Pastor:
- A love for God’s Word as the Word of God
- A commitment to God prioritized highly over a commitment to people
- A desire for the Century Baptist Church family
- Looking to please His Savior through obedience to God’s leading in his life
- A passion for equipping the saints for the work of ministry
Prayer for our Search Committee:
- Awareness of the weighty task with which we/they are charged
- Commitment to seek God throughout the entire process
- Discernment to navigate between personal preference and our church’s need for kingdom impact
- Wisdom as we read resumes, listen to fellow committee members perspective, engage with potential pastor
- Unity brought about the Holy Spirit leading us individually and collectively
