Greetings Century Family,
We wanted to share a few quick updates on our ongoing work and how you can join us in prayer during this season.
Our committee continues to meet regularly on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. Recently, committee member Mike Pitkin shared a thought-provoking article from The Gospel Coalition that sparked discussion among our group. That article led us to decide, as a committee, to read the book When the Word Leads Your Pastoral Search by Chris Brauns. As we read and discuss this resource together, we are actively seeking God’s guidance and praying for the candidate He is preparing for Century Baptist Church.

In our last update, we mentioned that we would be creating a dedicated way for you to reach out to us as a committee. That link is now live on our website and can be accessed here and at the bottom of this post.
The online profile is also nearing completion. An important part of that profile is a video, which should be completed by the end of September, allowing us to “Go Live” with our search in early October.
Lastly, here are some specific prayer requests we would have as a committee:
- Pray for patience. Pray that our group will wait for God’s timing. Psalm 27:14
- Pray that your search committee will have the mind of Christ and agree. Philippians 2:1-5
- Pray for wisdom to choose the right person. Romans 12:1-2
- Pray for discipline for your search committee and other church leaders. Colossians 3:23-24
