Patience. Yes, it’s been over a year and a half since Pastor Paul Nather resigned as our LP, but this is not the time to rush, we promise we are moving forward.

In our last meeting, on Aug 12th, we discussed pending business and spent time in prayer. Our only communication, currently, is that CBC is now in a time of unpacking the information from Vital Church’s Assessment, as well as processing their recommendations to our Elders and staff.

We are now on the path of what VCM calls “the mirror and the map”. The mirror is the data they gave us, which came directly from our surveys. What is next for CBC on this journey? We have been given a lot of verbal “map directives” and will also receive a very comprehensive written report detailing our Assessment. Pastor Carl will continue to lead us forward, as our IILP (intentional interim Lead Pastor) is encouraging us to pray, listen to the Holy Spirit and really dig into this assessment and work with the elders and staff to embrace the reality of the assessment, and then act on it.

This announcement is to inform you that we have invited a pastor to visit our congregation, the weekend of April 4th, with the intention of voting on him, as our Intentional Interim Lead Pastor (IIP). This vote would not take place till the following Sunday, April 13th.

On February 25th, and again on March 6th our committee conducted virtual interviews with this Intentional Interim Pastor candidate. Our next step is to make a recommendation to the Elders, regarding calling this candidate to visit our church family.
