DECEMBER 22, 2025 UPDATE

Greetings to our Century family, from your Lead Pastor Search Committee.   Since our last communication, in October, our path forward to a new Lead Pastor, has changed.   If you were at any of the three services, this past Sunday, December 21^st, you have by now heard that Pastor Carl is needing to be home in Loveland, CO, with his wife Vicki.  Have them in your prayers, as Vicki is struggling with an undiagnosed illness.   If you were not at church on Sunday, we would encourage you to watch the 10am service on our website.  Pastor Carl has been our Intentional Interim Pastor for just seven months, but he has left a lasting impression on Century Baptist Church, and so many of us.  We still remember one of Carl’s references saying  “the biggest problem you’ll have with Pastor Carl is you will fall in love with him and not want him to leave”.   They were absolutely correct. 

In 2 Timothy, chapter 4, the apostle Paul says “I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”.   Our Search Committee talked about this “race” we are currently in at Century, and how this race has now turned into a relay race.  Pastor Carl ran the first leg, but now he will hand off the baton to the next man, for what we hope is the anchor leg of this race.  As Vaughn Rhodes talked about on Sunday morning, we may have already met this man.  Vital Church Ministry has been very proactive in this transition, and in fact has introduced us to someone who we will all meet on January 4^th.  Pastor Dave Young is an experienced Intentional Interim Pastor with VCM, and is available to help us make this transition from Pastor Carl, to Pastor Dave and then hopefully to our next Lead Pastor.  We have a link below to Pastor Dave’s website, which has a tremendous amount of helpful information.   We spent about 90 minutes with Pastor Dave on Friday, December 19^th on a Zoom call, along with our Regional Minister, Pastor Randy Jaspers.   Please be in prayer for this transition, as we will be checking references and applying the same vetting as we did with Pastor Carl.  The Elders will have an announcement soon about a special business meeting on Sunday, January 11^th, 2026 where there may be a vote on this candidate, for Intentional Interim Pastor.
