Wachter Christmas Shop

A disciple of Jesus is for people, for their city, and loves people wherever they are. We talk about this a lot as a church and we talk a lot about this in the Middle School Ministry. Thanks to one of our youth leaders and Wachter Middle School parents, this Christmas season, our MSM has an opportunity to partner with Wachter Middle School to care for students in need.

The Christmas Shop at Wachter is available for students in need. Instead of presents for themselves, they will be shopping (free of charge) for a present for their mom/dad, aunt/uncle, grandma/grandpa, or guardian along with wrapping the present and taking it home the last week of Christmas to put under the tree.  Many of these students come from low-income or single-parent homes and would be so appreciative to be able to give their parent/caregiver a Christmas present when money is so tight. Last year, over 750 presents were wrapped in 2 days.

Collection Dates: November 30-December 18 at Century Baptist in The Basement

What We’re Collecting:

  • Unused items such as candles, perfume, jewelry, stationery, lotions, body washes, picture frames, gift sets, gloves, socks, purses, and scarves
  • new items such as boxes of chocolates or candy, or other food gifts (boxes of fancy tea, coffee, hot chocolate mix, store-boxed cookies, mints), wrapping paper, tissue paper, bows, empty boxes, gift bags, ribbon, and gift tags.
  • Gifts for dads (ties, socks, small tools, flashlights, etc.)
  • Monetary donations are also being taken. We will have the white Overflow buckets set up in The Basement; the money donated will be used to buy little tool kits, gloves, clothing, and personal care products.

Thank you for encouraging your student to be a part of loving people in their city well, including those students they may sit next to every day. This is an incredible opportunity to engage your student in the invitation to join Jesus in the work he is already doing.
