Gordon Stork— Lead Pastor

Email... gordon@centurybaptist.org

Top things people say to describe him… Lover of God, passionate, "real", loves people, very tall, family man, spiritual leader, a true friend and pastor to those entrusted to him.

What his family would add about him… The funniest thing about him is his attempts to be funny!
We love him.

What does he do, anyway? You need to try to catch him to know what he does! Gordon is the leader of our ministry team, preaching pastor and oversees our care ministries. He works primarily with church leadership and is involved in a number of teaching and mentoring groups.

What he's passionate about… Seeing lives change for the glory of God including his own. It is all about our lives surrendered to God!

His life verses and favorite books… Life verses include Romans 12:1-2; Philippians 3:13-14 and 1 Corinthians 11:1. To keep it simple and with the many studies he does his time is spent in the Word of God and that's the way he likes it.

Quickest way to his schedule… Spending time interacting one on one around a favorite beverage (depends on the season but peach green tea is always a hit) or at a Chinese or hamburger restaurant.

Family life… The Storks are table game players especially Rook or Dutch Blitz. They have been known to hunt as a family with a few walkers, a few hunters and one big and a few small dogs (Gordon relishes the role of Big Dog). With adult children they enjoy it when they can enjoy a meal together and Diane and Gordon enjoy seeing the lively interaction of their precious and loved children.

Life before Century Baptist Church… Gordon grew up in southern Manitoba while Diane resided in southern California. They got married Gordon's senior year in seminary and have pastored in Iowa as youth pastor, church planted in Austin TX and returned to Sioux Falls to be Senior Pastor of a ministry and then work in Admissions and Leadership Advancement at Sioux Falls Seminary. They arrived in Bismarck in 1998.

Where you're likely to find him when not at the church… At the gym or putting on the calories at a local restaurant before he goes back to the gym again.  And yes you will find the Storks doing team yard care and enjoyed days outside.

Things you might not know… Gordon became a US citizen a few years ago.  He was once rated in the top 20 high school basketball players for his class in Canada.  Diane loves to scuba dive and once burst her ear drum diving before flying a few hours later.  They both zip lined in Central America over a lengthy course and terrain --- now that would have been a sight-seeing these Storks flying through the air!
