Century Baptist Church is a place to grow and make disciples of Jesus Christ to the glory of God.
Each disciple magnifies God, who alone is worthy of our complete adoration. We provide regular opportunities for people to affirm the worth of God and pledge themselves to Him. God invites us to celebrate Him continually through such actions as praying, remembering His goodness, singing His praises and talking about His great character qualities. Worship includes cooperating with God’s transforming work in our lives to become like Him.
Living God's Word
We believe there is no substitute for the teaching and application of Biblical truth. The Bible is God’s inspired Word, the trustworthy and authoritative standard of faith and practice for Christ’s followers. Therefore we value the teaching of God’s Word and are committed to applying God’s truth to every aspect of our lives.
Inviting People to Follow Jesus
We actively invite others to a vital relationship with Christ in our homes, neighborhoods, and communities (locally, regionally, nationally and globally). Jesus instructed His disciples to communicate His “Good News” to others so that all would have the opportunity to accept the invitation to become Christ’s followers. We will follow the pattern of the early church by communicating God’s Word, pointing people to Christ through godly living, building relationships, and serving. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:42-47; Acts 1:8)
As God loves us, we follow His pattern by selflessly connecting with and caring for one another. God’s Word clearly instructs us to love others as He loves us, creating a community with deep, abiding relationships. Connecting relationships involve praying for each other, studying together, fellowshipping, and enjoying friendship and mutual care in order to build one another up. (Matthew 22:37-39; Acts 2:42-47; 1 John 4:19-21)
We participate in the training of disciples to advance God’s mission. Equipping disciples involves helping each person to discover and develop spiritual gifts and God-given passions. Trained disciples use their gifts for ministry. We are committed to being lifetime learners and servants. (Ephesians 4:1-16; 1 Corinthians 12; 2 Timothy 2:2)
Serving Those in Need
We value and address the unique needs of others. The heart of God is for people who are in need. His followers are called to reach out to the needs of the fallen, oppressed, disadvantaged and needy by providing physical, emotional and spiritual help. As we seek to meet the needs of individuals in our communities (locally, regionally, nationally and globally), we will rely on the Spirit’s leading to show us where He may be inviting us to join Him.
